The apartment hunt has officially begun. So far we’ve seen five in the building next door, and we have a couple favorites, but nothing that meets all of our requirements, which are as follows:
- Christian: bigger but not too big, the exact same price we pay for our present tiny place, and simple but comfortable furniture
- TK: Bigger (cavernous, if you will), filled to the brim with storage options, a bathtub (preferably gigantic, with jets and elves who will scrub your back for you), and a gourmet kitchen (must be the size of our current living room with an oven big enough to roast three turkeys and maybe an ostrich)
I have no idea why we haven’t found the perfect place yet.
In other news, I was almost kind of offered a job that would have paid me money by that magazine I’ve been slaving for, but they’ve decided that because they can’t seem to actually make money themselves, paying me would be too much. Instead they’re bribing me to a free membership the the outrageously expensive gym I’ve been wanting to rejoin. I’m not complaining. At least, not until five days before press when they come running to me with a dozen articles to write.
Aside from that, life’s been pretty quiet. Christian and I went to a wedding and several parties. We now have the world’s most amazing babysitter who is willing to watch Nico on the occasional evening that we need grown up time (about to get a lot less occasional), and uhhh… oh! With less than seven months of training in his little life, Nico started crawling a couple weeks ago. We’re talking super-speed crawling here, not just some wussy inch-worming. He can now catch the cat and pull ladders down on his head in second flat, which has decreased the size of our apartment even further in an esoteric kind of way.
But really that’s about it.

We call Moira the “rollinator” because she can roll from one end of the living room floor to the other in the time it takes me to sneeze. (Granted – the living room isn’t very big). I suspect she will be crawling around 7 months too because she is really trying to crawl.
Isn’t it time you put up new pictures of Nico?
Wow! That’s an awesome feat! First she gets teeth early and then she starts rolling all over the place… She makes hyperactive Nico look positively lazy.
You’re right. I do owe some new Nico pictures. Thanks for reminding me!
